I tried Lenny on my eee 900 once but there was some hardware issues i never manage to solwe...</p><p>Now when running Statler live on my eee 900 I have no sound and wifi doesen&#039;t seam to work...</p><p>I&#039;ll create a thread for this issues on the Statler develop forum since this thread is a bit old.</p><p><a href="http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/post/68305/#p68305">http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/post/68305/#p68305</a></p><p>please share your experience in that thread</p>]]></content>

I would recommend trying a newer release... 8.10 has reached its &quot;end of life&quot; and is no longer supported. Newer releases will have newer audio/video codecs, better hardware support, etc. </p><p>9.04 is the current Ubuntu-based stable release (supported through Oct. 2010), and &quot;Statler&quot; is the alpha-testing version of the upcoming Debian-based release. I personally find that video performance is better with Statler than with previous versions, if you are comfortable dealing with the challenges of alpha software it is my recommendation.</p><p>(edit) ps if the jerky playback is specifically with streaming media from the web, try downloading it first then playing it from your hard drive with VLC. I find that Youtube video, for example, is a little jerky on both of my netbooks (due to the weak hardware specs I presume), but I can play the video no problem if I download it first.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>hi all,&nbsp; i have spent quite a while jumping from distro to distro.&nbsp; In the end however i always came back to ubuntu because of its popularity and as a result support.&nbsp; trouble with it is i am somewhat of a control freak and i like things slim and quick.&nbsp; i just happened to stumble upon crunchbang and have to say that it is perfect!&nbsp; absolutely great.&nbsp; i have a 901 and after installing cruncheee along with elmurato&#039;s scripts things work great.</p><p>however, i did notice one small thing.&nbsp; i used to be able to press the power button and have it turn off, after installing the scripts it does nothing.&nbsp; i have installed the scripts on ubuntu before and i know that they fiddle around with the powerbutton&#039;s settings.&nbsp; i am unsure/unable to get the gui that came with the scripts to load and also dont see an icon by the clock like i did with plain ubuntu.&nbsp; any one have any suggestions?</p><p>finally a little detail, it seems that the default volume icon on the taskbar in openbox does not match up with the systems volume, any way i can correct this?</p><p>thanks all love the distro !</p>]]></content>
