Running the latest of gmpc, 11.8 and it is working great with mpd... not sure on it and why the script does not pick it up.. It runs, but does not create the .album file

What I did find was a mpd mpris python script that adds mpd as a mpris client... This simplifies everything... Now I can focus on the mpd side .. I am just about done, need only to figure the arturl for sure...

I am going through pretty much everything in this thread... Seems simple enough to be able to use art you already have as opposed to going to get new art... When I solve it I will post it..

Edit - Also, where reflection is supposed to be set by default to false, for me it is running all the time... I have never used the -r switch

As far as the reflections are concerned, search the script for alpha, as it's alpha-channel transparency. I remember removing it a while ago, but I haven't used the script in a long time, and I don't have a copy.

Actually, you should try some of my experiments on Page 6 in this very thread, as well as the previous versions by iggykoopa. Unless you pass "-r" or "--reflect" as a command-line switch, it shouldn't do the reflection.

Yes.. they are all either cover.jpg or png and all directories are fine with id3v2 tags.. Any other app sees them and mpris1 standards picks it all up

I thought that there may be an earlier version of the script that would not have the reflection.. I can look through it and see if I can spot the methods and eliminate it

Is it possible to get the script for this that does not add a reflection and/or just uses the cover art from the directory of the song being played?

I resolved my issues with the install

I had to get decorator-3.3.2 and compile it

And the directories now are (or at least for me)

usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/lastfm

so the commands had to be

sudo cp -R mixins /usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/lastfm/
sudo cp -R util /usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/lastfm/

Once all of these were done the album art works

I have found this thread and want to get it working...

I have followed iggykoopa's instructions on page 2 to kyte but when I get to

sudo cp -R mixins /usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/lastfm-0.2-py2.6.egg/lastfm/

I receive the following error

sudo cp -R mixins /usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/lastfm-0.2-py2.6.egg/lastfm/

[sudo] password for vastone: 
cp: cannot stat `mixins': No such file or directory

Running the next cp does the same thing

sudo cp -R util /usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/lastfm-0.2-py2.6.egg/lastfm/

vastone@crunchbang-Phenom965:~/python-lastfm/lastfm$ sudo cp -R util /usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/lastfm-0.2-py2.6.egg/lastfm/

cp: cannot create directory `/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/lastfm-
0.2-py2.6.egg/lastfm/': No such file or directory

From the latest svn checkout of python-lastfm, I do have a mixin and a util directory already in my /home/vastone/python-lastfm/lastfm directory..

Not sure where to go with this and would appreciate some help...

ok.I replaced line with this

${exec cp "`conkyRhythmbox --datatype=CA | sed -e 's/\\\//g'`" /home/maros-lrp/.album}${image /home/maros-lrp/.album -p 0,2 -s 64x64}

when I type conkyRhythmbox --datatype=CA so nothing happens.There isn't any info in terminal.

my conky is compiled with imlib2 support.

imlib_cache_size 0

I have this line in my conkyrc above text.

I have conkyRhythmbox working.

Idk for what I am looking for because idk how it works and what I need to do.Is hard to understand it for me because my english is bad.And I installed subversion but idk for what to use it.

Did you try this? It's from aslamp's first post in the thread.

I'm almost certain the version of Conky that ships with Statler includes imlib2 support.

Make sure you have 'imlib_cache_size 0' somewhere in your .conkyrc above the TEXT.

NOTE: You do need to have conkyRhythmbox installed for the above to work (there's a link in the first post)...I don't use Rhythmbox, so I can't test or debug.

EDIT: If you're looking for the "full" version of the Python albumart script (before I started hacking into it) it's somewhere on the second or third page...you'll also need to pull in a last.fm thing using Subversion...

it works when I copy image to my home and I rename it to .album without any picture type (jpg,png...)
This line draw it for me

${exec albumart}${image /home/maros-lrp/.album -p 110,162 -s 64x64}

but idk how to define cp from playing file.
and what is OP ?

@marosblasko64: Since you're working with Rhythmbox, the last line in the code snippet in the OP should work pretty much out-of-the-box; just remember to change all instances of '/home/jack/' to point to your home directory.

Hi guys
I realize that I've not been around much... just flittin' here and there! lol
But, this thread is a very nice one.
I've enabled rhythmbox album art, etc. in my #! Statler install, an Ubu install, and a couple of others.
The critical thing for all of them, it seems to me, is to have an OS which is up to date and that has a window manager that renders directly and all of the imlibstuffetc onboard.
But, to repeat, thanks to all the contributers for this very nice thread: I have the album art changing with the album, and if there is no art it defaults to the first album it found (an Eclipse cover! lol) Artist, Title, Album, Genre, Year, Position in the song and length of song all work.
