Launchpad is no longer used with CrunchBang. This team existed when CrunchBang had an Ubuntu base

Hi Philip,

I join the team, I am not a pro , I practice as a hobby. I am fluent in French, French native lost in Northern Ireland, its me !!. I may help for traduction , testing, promote etc. That will be my pleasure. :D

As I am new to the world of "buntu", can some please tell me what being a member on the launchpad would mean?

I assume that when someone that is not on the team finds a bug, it will be reported. Is there a higher priority if it is a team member? If a non team member comes up with a fix or patch, does it have to be approved by the team first before it is looked at and implemented? I really don't know how this whole thing works.

What benefit/responsibility goes along with being a member?

I just applied to join (lillis). However my programming experienced is limited to some very basic Python. I'd be happy to help with things like bug testing, user experience issues, general input and translation (Swedish). I'm not new to GNU/Linux but I'm new to actually joining up in a community like this. But you just seem like such a lovely bunch, and #! seems to be the first distro I'd ever install and just keep more or less as is, so I figured I should give it a go. Since the community is relatively small I also don't feel completely redundant, despite my limited skills in the most needed of areas. ;)

I'd love to help -- just joined Launchpad. I've never done any OS development, but I'd love to get my hands dirty. I have a good amount of programming / project development experience, just lacking a bit in the time area (grad school tends to do that).

How does this work? Are there particular projects or just look at known bugs and try to fix 'em?

I'm a bit of an eclectic when it comes to Linux -- I can't help trying out different distributions and changing things up. Since I've come to #!, I can't bring myself to go anywhere else =).

It could. :)

To be honest, the Launchpad side of things has been a little slow, something I could probably be blamed for. Having said that, CrunchBang remains a fairly young project and I guess we are all still finding our feet. If you, or anyone would like to contribute in anyway, please feel free to discuss, I am sure there would be more than a few interested parties, myself included. :)

Okay, good to know it's alive. Still, don't teams generally do something? And if they do something like building and testing packages that could be called a project, couldn't it?
