It's supposedly available from download.tuxfamily.org/madbox/madbox-11.10/ , but so far, I've been unable to download the iso [It won't even start in FireFox, & in Opera, it downloads 67KiB before freezing. Even stopping & restarting several times gives a false reading in Opera - it states ~89MiB downloaded, when it's actually 1.5MiB, in ~20 minutes!!!].

Building from scratch with Ubuntu minimal or UCK may be quicker.

Yes, but can you configure the clock in your lxpanel to look like the clock format in madbox? For example, see this post: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2009/11/some … et-styles/

Yes, but can you configure the clock in your lxpanel to look like the clock format in madbox? For example, see this post: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2009/11/some … et-styles/

I meant the format, font and sizing of the clock on madbox:

Do you know what code I can use to get my clock to display in this format with this font? It is very easy on the eye, unlike many of the other formats.

Since adcomp's site is down, and on the download-site (http://download.tuxfamily.org/madbox/madbox-10.10/) there is no 64-bit-version, it looks like, the won´ t be, what you'd like... :(

BTW.: What do you mean by "clock-settings" ???

Hi, I really like the way madbox has revived my old laptop. I especially like the clock settings - bold and very legible. Could the maker please share the clock format code here so that I can apply it to my other linux distros on other laptops.

Speaking of other laptops, is there any chance of a 64bit version of madbox. It would be really awesome since all of my other laptops are 64bit. The only thing preventing me from a complete switch to Madbox on ALL my systems is a lack of the 64bit version. Thanks!

Hello from a live session!

Well, I've kept a loose eye on this thread for a couple few months now, tempted but never lured. As of lately, I've been like a "mad man" at the computer , trying to figure out exactly what it is I wan't on my netbbook and why. After much consideration and experimenting, I've got it down to a triple boot of archbang, #!, and a debian sqeeze netinstall. I'm "commiting" to this set-up for a duration of at least one month. :lol:

So today I thought I'd break away from all the "hard work" and just goof around, but with what? DUH! Madbox of course...

Download was fast, as was the live boot-up. Once I figured out how to get my keyboard to speak in English, I was able to connect wireless without a problem. Got deadbeef playing some good blues music as I set off to check things out this Madbox.

Seems mighty fine. I've always had a thing for Peppermint OS for its minimalist approach and the fact that it's easy to forget that it is Ubuntu based. Madbox is even lighter, and seems very "UN-buntu" as well. While I can say that I won't be installing to disk, I will keep the live session around.

This distro might help inspire a certain direction for my Debian build. But if for nothing else, I think passing the USB stick down to my brother (when I'm done playing w/ it :P ) just might be the "miracle" that I've been waiting for. My brother Vista machine is driving him "nuts." Now, let's see if we cant drive him "MAD!"

Thanks ADcomp! I can already tell this is a fine contribution to the linux community.

I just added the URL to my sources list, & indeed I got the '403 Forbidden' message, but also got a load of 'New in Repository' items appear in Synaptic.

Just to make sure, I deleted ad-comp.be from my sources, reloaded Synaptic, & lo & behold, the new items had disappeared.

It would seem that the repo is alive, but I can't be sure#!

on updating this morning, I get following error message:

"Failed to fetch http://www.ad-comp.be/public/deb/./Packages.gz 403 Forbidden"

Does this mean the repo is dead ?

I found a script: /usr/share/adeskbar/default.config
A line had been added to the '@menu' section of the script, but editing the script by removing this extra line has made no difference.
Reinstalling adeskbar has made no difference.
I still have no menu launcher, & while most applications can be launched from the file manager, certain things have 'disappeared'.
There does not seem to be either a manual or documentation, which makes it difficult to RTFM.
