Okay. I got them installed fine. AbiWord finds them and uses them fine but they don't look right. They look just like on Windows with Ubuntu but not on here. Is there something to do with the font engine and can I fix this?

Hi

what do you normally do - is root owner of the font files and did you do 'sudo mkfontdir' in the dir you moved the fonts to?

You can check the ownership with 'ls -l' in the dir and if root is not the owner, you can use 'sudo chown root.root *' in the dir to fix it.

I just installed my Windows fonts like I normally do(/usr/share/fonts/truetype/fonts). I did

sudo fc-cache -f -v

and restarted. When I logged on and went too Google there were no fonts on the page. I tried other websites such as this forum, Neowin and Bing. All didn't have fonts. FontyPython said "Font may be bad and cannot be drawn."

The fonts are .tff, and .oft. Help?

I'm using 9.04 if that helps.
