Ok I have been trying to resolve this all day, and nothing.

Anyone have any help?

Re: [Resolved] Audio not working on Acer Aspire one

Did you tried this: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AspireOne110L#Audio, mine is working very well.

I looked it over, don't think it will help though.

I have it on another One and the audio works fine, but on my new one it does not work at all.

Re: [Resolved] Audio not working on Acer Aspire one

Did you have sound when you booted from either your livecd or livecd on USB?  I am pretty sure I did.  You could try rebooting the livecd image and just see if you get sound, or try selecting the original kernel from your grub menu.   See if you can isolate it to the kernel.

When you bring up volume control does it list any audio device?

Also what is the output of lsmod and dmesg?

When I bring up the volume control panel it shows:

HDA Intel (ALSA Mixer) and Realtek ALC268 (OSS MIXER)

I checked and when I run my live USB it does not have audio either.

Re: [Resolved] Audio not working on Acer Aspire one

Hmmm.  Seems like the driver is loaded.  I take it you have the volume controls up pretty high (master, pcm, front)?

Your lsmod output looks pretty much like mine.

The only real difference with your dmesg output than mine when it comes to sound is you have this line.

[   10.801015] hda_intel: azx_get_response timeout, switching to polling mode: last cmd=0x00fb0001

Did you ever have sound working on this system?  Not sure if originally it was a Linpus system, or an XP one.

Do you have the following in /etc/modprobe.d/options  ?

options snd-hda-intel model=acer-aspire

OK My bad, in my hurry to try and fix this I over looked a small but imporant thing I did not hav PCM

Re: [Resolved] Audio not working on Acer Aspire one

I take it you mean you didn't have PCM turned up in the volume control?  If so I am glad that is all it was.
