Topic: Package update: Conky 1.7.1.1

I have updated the 9.04.xx repositories with the latest Conky package, version 1.7.1.1.

For news about this release, please see: http://conky.sourceforge.net/changelog.html

Re: Package update: Conky 1.7.1.1

^^good thing ... but the "#" symbol cannot be displayed anymore sad

Re: Package update: Conky 1.7.1.1

You can still use "#", just don't have it by itself.

yes.... no more conky lines like "#! system"... have to be "cbl system" ..
another thing: ibm sensors doesn't seems to work anymore... did i miss something? do i have to enable ibm support while compiling ?

Re: Package update: Conky 1.7.1.1

You can have "#!". As long as a character is right next to the "#" it will work:

Re: Package update: Conky 1.7.1.1

^thx for the tips anonymous, but i've downgrade conky; i can't make ibm-sensors working (don't know why, it's supposed to be enable by default). but i keep an eye on it and upgrade as soon as sensors work smile

Re: Package update: Conky 1.7.1.1

ok, ibm-sensors are no longer enable by default, if you want it , you have to enable it while compiling.
in fact, many things could be enable : see here smile

Re: Package update: Conky 1.7.1.1

This is not the case for me. Having #! even with the ! next to it, still doesn't work.

HAF Desktop:
Core i7, 6GB RAM, 750GB HDD (W7), GeForce GTX 260
Thinkpad Edge (14"):
Core i3, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD (#! 10)

Re: Package update: Conky 1.7.1.1

Try escaping like /#. I read about that at Arch Forums, dunno if you have to patch conky for that. Maybe they included it by now.

I'm so meta, even this acronym

Re: Package update: Conky 1.7.1.1

for those who have issues to display #! in their conky:

${exec echo "#!"} if you want to display #!

smile

Re: Package update: Conky 1.7.1.1

hi #!ers smile
if you want conky 1.7.2.DEB with all new-features enable by default, you can go to Cesare Tirabassi PPA to dl it. jaunty & karmic debs available wink
just take a look at the debs list to choose the right one.

I think you have to use a backslash. \# is what In did in the past and it worked. Or you could type out ${exec echo "#!"} if that floats your boat.

Why try to think outside the box, when we could just set the box on fire?
