Thank you asdfhjkl.

some small thinks :
- taskbar_mode = single_monitor is removed in 0.7
tint2 always show task in current monitor.
- panel_position can have 3 parameters : left/right/center  top/bottom/center  horizontral/vertical
- task_width = 200 parameter was replaced by task_maximum_size = 200 20
  width = 200 and height = 20.
this is to keep tint2 consistent when you change horizontal to vertical.

tintwizard looks good.

Thanks thil, I'll get to work on this soon!

Edit: all these changes now available in version 0.2.3; along with the clock_lclick_command and clock_rclick_command options.

I answer my own questions. Cool.

You have to recompile. The tint2 in the repos doesn't have it swiched on. The good point is, you don't have to tinker with the settings before compiling. configure, make, checkinstall, works...

I'm so meta, even this acronym

Re: tintwizard - A GUI to configure tint2

I saw a new tint was in the repo: http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/post/35573/#p35573
Does tintwizard yet support the new features?

Btw. it would be cool if tintwizard could be somehow "linked" with tint2, so that new features can be set in tintwizard as soon as possible. And it would than be great if tintwizard could be installed via apt/synaptic/aptitude, so one can update w/o problems.

Not yet. It will eventually...

Adding new options to tintwizard is fairly easy. I usually keep an eye on the tint2 repository to see what's new and what features are coming soon, but I'm reluctant to include them right away. The problem is how up-to-date should tintwizard be? Should it be congruent with the most recent "stable" release, or should it be fully compatible with the most recent version available in the SVN repository?

I suppose I could always have a more recent version available for those who wish to use the new features. Especially since they are likely to be in the next "major" tint2 release anyway. I guess this is just one of the problems of a project like this; where different users are inevitably using different versions of the target application. smile

the answer is clear : tintwizard stable should stay congruent with the most recent tint2 "stable".
because SVN is for testing feature and I can revert (or change) some way to configure them.
I don't manage backward compatibility between SVN version.
And users trying SVN unstable take the risk of incompatibility between version.

Edit : the post look too hard. Of course you are free to do what you want with tintwizard wink
and thanks to do it !!

I agree - I imagine that much more people use the stable version of tint2 than check-out from svn, so this makes sense smile

It's mostly #! users who seem to use tintwizard so as long as there is enough demand for it, I'll try and keep an alternative version up to date with whatever version of tint2 is in the #! repos.

Re: tintwizard - A GUI to configure tint2

tintwizard is included in tint2 SVN.

if you want to check it install SVN,
add '.tint2rc' extension to your tint2rc config file  (like 'my config.tint2rc')
add those config files into ~/.config/tint2/
and run command line

tint2conf

then button properties open tintwizard on each config file.

Thank you - but are you sure about this. I only see autostart.sh, menu.xml and rc.xml

Re: tintwizard - A GUI to configure tint2

There is no reason for this not to be included, its small, and really powerful...Its usually the first thing I install on a fresh CrunchBang.

Re: tintwizard - A GUI to configure tint2

Hi everyone, just letting you all know that after a few months of the project being inactive, I've updated tintwizard to support the current version of tint2 in the svn repository. You can get version 0.3 here.

I'm pretty sure I added everything, although if I happened to miss anything I'd appreciate you letting me know. Any errors or problems let me know. Thanks smile

Re: tintwizard - A GUI to configure tint2

one missing parameter is

battery_hide = 90

battery_hide value goes from 0 to 100.
when the battery is higher than battery_hide value, tint2 will hide battery status.

and thanks for tintwizard.

Re: tintwizard - A GUI to configure tint2

Thanks thil, added this. It's in SVN or there's a download here
