Downloading your iso is a must! So I'm downloading...
Update... It looks&works fantastic!
The only thing I could call an error or a bug, is when installing your OS, install-manager tells that it can not install apt or set apt (something like that), but when you press OK, it continues, and all works well. Also, in live-cd su (or sudo su, I can't remember now) asks for a password (madbox).
The desktop theme and layout is awesome!

ADComp, congratulations! It's very good! Works like a charm on my EeePC and I liked your default conky and xfce configs and the new adeskbar and adesk launcher looks and works. The xmbc integration is a marvel, I'm tempted to use it as a media player instead of media center! I've been using It the last day and seems to be very well fine tuned. Everything works ok! Good work! You have a winner here!
Didn't liked the Serif font for XFce menus and window but that's easy! I do miss openbox, tint2, the key assignments, the gmrun and dmenu. XFce it's friendler, also light, but, how shall I say, not as charismatic as openbox.
So... when will it come the openbox version? ![]()
Tried installing from CD to USB...installer crashed. Bug report filed at Launchpad.
What I was able to see running from CD was great!
Only criticism I have is it apparently doesn't have the blob for my Broadcom wireless.
Nice, very nice

I test it, I also love it !
I think like you, I do miss gmrun and dmenu (you can install it after, I know
) and OPENBOX ! I can't live without this ! ![]()

Indeed, very cool job ! ![]()
"Madbox 9.10" + Openbox = "#! 9.10", no ? ![]()

Nothing more i can add that already hasnt been said,,,But here it goes...
OH MY WOW !!...Thats some good stuff.I just downloaded and tried out both in virtual box,,I much prefer the openbox over the xfce,,but both look and feel great,,,There quite impressive,,I installed the openbox version
into virtual box and will be playing around with it ..I turned off the cairo thing,,LOL,,then i couldnt figure out how to start it back up,,,But i figured out how to restart the adeskbar once i figured out the name of it.
Im thinking this would work great on my aspire one,,,I just might have to do it..:D
"Madbox 9.10" + Openbox = "#! 9.10", no ?
Adcomp has already done it: Please take look at page 2 of this thread. There's the link to the "madbox-9.10.02-i386.iso".
That's become my #!9.10. Still have a shutdown/reboot-problem, when not having entered the sudo-password before (autologin!!!).
New xfce-flavour is great, but that openbox-version above is what i'll stay with - even if i have to "sudo halt" to shutdown....
So good! ![]()
[..] when installing your OS, install-manager tells that it can not install apt or set apt (something like that), but when you press OK, it continues, and all works well.
yes .. I know that
( but I don't know which additional packages from CD are missing )

[..] Also, in live-cd su (or sudo su, I can't remember now) asks for a password (madbox).
.. really ? very strange! I don't have this behavior
Tried installing from CD to USB...installer crashed. Bug report filed at Launchpad.
Ubiquity crash ..?
( remember that madbox is not official ubuntu
)
Only criticism I have is it apparently doesn't have the blob for my Broadcom wireless.
If it works fine with ubuntu karmic , it should work with madbox , too .. ( maybe it's the new kernel ? 2.6.31-16 )
--
some issue :
* if you install , you need to modify /etc/slim.conf ( line 68 ~ default_user ) .. remplace madbox with your login name
* don't know why but /sbin in not in PATH .. you can add one line in your ~/.bashrc : PATH=$PATH:/sbin
* once installed , you maybe need to 'update' repo for software-center (=> sudo apt-get update )
* I use ~/bin/autostart.sh ( like openbox ~/.config/openbox/autostart.sh ) to launch conky/adeskbar
* ..

Thanks for all yours comments ![]()

Second glitch: Shutdown and reboot from oblogout didn't work after harddisk-install. Added this line to /etc/sudoers: "USER ALL=NOPASSWD: /sbin/halt, /sbin/reboot". Now it's working.

Hi!
I told so, because right after addding that sudoers-line, shutdown worked, but apparently only because i had used the "sudo" (visudo) command once. As i said, i have autologin enabled. As long as i have to set the root password once in a session running gparted or synatic e.g.), logout works. Otherwise not.
Did not mention this, because for me that's justb a minor glitch. Madbox9.10 in fact has replaced my #!9.04.. ![]()
EDIT: Seems like i've sorted out the problem. in /etc/sudoers i changed the line:
USER ALL=NOPASSWD: /sbin/halt, /sbin/reboot
to:
xy ALL=NOPASSWD: /sbin/shutdown -h now, /sbin/reboot
where "xy" is my username (Maybe leaving USER instead of xy would work too; haven't tried yet...).
Now both shutdown and reboot work.
Another question: i can't switch between the icons (Cancel, Logout, Reboot,Shutdown) using the arrow keys - i have to use the mouse.
Is that normal behaviour or some other glitch in my setup ???

Are you using unetbootin?
If so, try some older vertions - madbox works fine with unetbootin 312-319
still cant get it to work
is it just to use unetbootin and choose the image file
and restart and boot with the usb?
Well, yes.
Download iso file -> open unetbootin (I'm sure it works on MS Windows) -> point unetbootin to your iso file -> OK -> exit -> reboot -> esc (on eeepc) -> point to your bootable usb-stick with madbox -> enter -> select your keyboard -> enter -> you should be in madbox world in a while

Hope it help (maybe try to download iso once again)

Wow Really nice adcomp ![]()

For the windows people,,,Pendrive linux is a great resource to help make bootable flashdrives.
Sometimes Unetbooten doesnt work,,,So ive installed the Ubuntu USB creator and have had decent luck with that.
Now both shutdown and reboot work.
Cool .. ![]()

Thanks for your info, I will immediatedly uninstall karma... ![]()
Probably it´s just too much tweaking of the system... Yesterday i managed to get pcmanfm so far, that it
doesn´t unmount the partitions on my drive anymore, unless running as root. Just repaired this via pysdm. ![]()

Update: Not bad Karma, but poor eyes... : Using the mouse, a white rectangle appears underlying the icons. Using the arrow-keys, i only get a small black frame around the icons. And those frame-lines are soooo tiny, i never saw them against a darkisk background.
Just found out: the frame color depends on the choosen openbox-theme - using "Mist" e.g. gives a white frame...
Anyway: is there a way to get that white rectangle in combination with the arrow-keys ??? ![]()

Do you know that you can set a custom Gtk theme for specific applications ? Maybe you can try this ..
## GTK2_RC_FILES=/path/to/your/theme/gtkrc application-command
GTK2_RC_FILES=/usr/share/themes/Mist/gtk-2.0/gtkrc oblogout--
