Topic: what happened to tint and trayer?
CrunchBang Lite 8.10.02 doesnt have them. Were they not good or did you (Philip) just like lxpanel more?
BTW if you wish to contact me, send me an e-mail instead of a PM.

I am hoping tint makes it in the full version of CB (8.10.02).
Check your autostart.sh file... I think you can just comment out lxpanel and uncomment tint and trayer.
The autostart.sh file doesnt list tint or trayer. Besides their packages arent even installed.
Check out this tutorial then: http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/topic t2-trayer/
I know about the tutorial, I was just curious why the switch back to lxpanel.

That's a good question, I thought the tint+trayer combo would make it to the full CB desktop. It's such a nice setup, and still lighter than lxpanel I thought.

I like the tint and trayer combination, but unfortunately tint is just not as stable as lxpanel. I think it is important to attempt to make the default installation as stable as possible. Hopefully tint will mature into an excellent task manager I will be keeping an eye on its development progress. Meantime, as you are aware, tint and trayer are only an apt-get away. ![]()
