Hello James M ![]()
Thank you for the suggestion. CrunchBang tends to use the same Kernel as used by Ubuntu for the release it is based on. The Kernel is updated to the latest version when a point release is produced, as in the latest 8.10.02 release. The exception to this is CrunchEee, which uses a Kernel provided by Array.org. My understanding is that EXT4 will be available in the next Ubuntu release, "Jaunty". Every effort will be made to provide the updated Kernel in the 9.04.01 release. ![]()
P.S. Welcome to the forums!
EXT4 is included (as stable) in the 2.6.28 kernel. If your in dire need for it you could use the existing config file (/boot/config-2.6.xx-x) and compile your own with the option enabled. Just rembemer, don't delete your old kernel till everything works a-ok ![]()
