Opera 10.50 will change the game up soon ... early testing on the Windows version has it winning on speed pretty convincingly:

I really like Opera ... the only thing that irked me was the fiddling needed to make embedded Youtube videos work.  The built-in Bit Torrent client, Turbo mode, tab previews, etc. ... all excellent features.  Add to that the speed of 10.50 (only alpha version is available for Linux at the moment) and you have a pretty good browser.  I will be sticking with Opera as my default browser, and await 10.50 eagerly.

I've noticed "run-away" behavior with some of the recent Firefox upgrades, so I started to use Opera, it has all of the features I want and seems to be "better behaved"

Midori,  Kazehakase, and any other Firefox/Mozilla-like browser I have used either crashes a lot or just flat out isn't faster than Firefox. I have been using Chrome lately and it works very well and is faster than Firefox 3.5. I agree with trailpups, if any browser should have a chance of replacing Firefox as the default #! web browser it should be Chrome.

I would support Chrome/-ium, if the browser would be able to override the sites' font-settings. On my flat screen every font except Dejavu looks just terrible. Opera doesn't offer this option either afaik, so lets stay with Firefox, until the font issue is solved. smile
BTW when considering Opera as an 'intregrated web application' lets go for Seamonkey first. It has all the features of Opera and Firefox plus it has the only working and easy to setup spam filter in its email part I every saw.
