Anonymous, mind if I change mine? I already voted, but changed my opinion.
Now that I have used Statler a while, I know nicer programs tongue

Here's what I want to change:

Can I recommend abcde as a CD ripper, even only as a supplemental choice to a graphical one? It really is fantastic, and is in the Debian repos.

Re: Vote for your preferred apps

I scratched Audacious of my previous post.  It won't play streaming audio any more (broken?).  Googling, it seems to be a common problem now.  Looking for an alternate small player (beside vlc).

Re: Vote for your preferred apps

Not sure if this topic is still alive, but the other day I discovered 'Phatch', a nice tool to perform batch tasks on your pictures. It very easily lets you create a series of operations and then perform them on directory of pictures. It can also be used using the command line.

Would like to add a vote (someone else already recommended it in this thread) to for this useful tool!

Re: Vote for your preferred apps

I don't know if this is still an ongoing thing to vote on, but I'd like to voice my preferences just in case it is.  smile

Re: Vote for your preferred apps

After recently installing Alpha2, I have decided that only a couple of things needed to be changed on my box:

Change Gedit for Scite - Scite has a whole load of features but remains lightweight : http://groups.google.com/group/scite-in … web/extras
Change Iceweasel for Google Chrome - Html5 instead of Adobe Flash (Although the new Firefox snaphots are incorporating Html5 soon)

I think that "locate" should be installed as a default cli app as most people use it along with find, grep, sed etc.

I also personally prefer Wicd over Network Manager and Nmapplet. Although so far NM is doing ok on my Alpha2 install.

To be honest, as perfect setups go, CB Sta OB Alpha2 is pretty darn close to perfection for me smile
