Topic: Hi folks!
Just finished setting up my first #! install with Statler Openbox on my NC10 netbook. All went ok apart from not being able to install from a usb stick, so i used an external dvd drive instead.
I've been using Arch for the past couple of years (i still have it on my desktop pc) using mainly tiling wm's. That distro really is great , but having decided to wipe Windows from my netbook i thought i would try something different. While looking for alternatives i came across #! I've got to say i am VERY impressed with the presentation and quality of #! Installation and getting a nice default setup straight out the box was painless compared to Arch
That "cb-welcome" script is awesome, along with a nice default conky and useful openbox key-bindings list.
I've got lots of reading up to to do over the coming weeks about #! and how it all fits together. I will probably mess around with it for a bit and then do a complete reinstall when it hits stable.
I hope i can contribute to the #! community in some way in the future when i get more experienced in using it.
Did i say i am very impressed by #! ![]()
