Topic: [SOLVED] MurrinaBlu -- Thunar -- Right Click -- EeePC 701

A few days ago I noticed that right-clicking in Thunar only flashed the context menu -- it was unusable unless I held it down, slid my finger across the touch-pad and  then selected my option.

This is what I've tried:

Blowing out the touch-pad area with canned air.
Blowing out the touch-pad area with canned air after taking the left-right clicker plate off.
Right clicking through the access hole with a straightened paper clip.
Double checking my DVD ISO of CB Statler A-2 to verify that it worked.  It did.
Re-installing CB Statler A-2.

I remembered that the DVD worked so I changed my default theme back to one of the Statler themes: the right click context menu worked.  Changing back to MurrinaBlu it stopped working.  I mean it would flash on but not stay visible for use.  The two themes on either side of it in Settings | Appearance | Style both worked.  Other than not using that particular theme is there an option?  neutral

To summarize: no right click context menu while using MurrinaBlu theme in Xfce however it works fine with all the other default themes.

So my question is: is this an isolated error on my device [which I can work around] or has some one else experienced it, too?  I only have this one computer so can't test for it on another rig; I haven't read of anyone mentioning it in these forums; and I don't know if I should file a bug report if it isn't necessary.

BTW I know there is a context menu key on my keyboard however that is not the issue.  wink

I have the same problem with MurrinaBlu of the default themes, but I had first noticed this when trying out SimpleGrey theme.
Just to add that I'm using a standard mouse on a desktop PC and with right click I get no context menu. To get around I have to hold the right mouse button and select what I want.
Hope this helps.
Using statler a2 xfce.

@winotree & semko
It's probably a bug that's exclusive to Thunar.

Just to confirm, you only get this behavior when right-clicking on a folder or file and not on empty portions of Thunar, right?

Here's what you can try (works for me with MurrinaBlu and other GTKs that have given me this problem in the past)
1. Go to your /usr/share/themes/MurrinaBlu/gtk-2.0/gtkrc and open it up in a text editor (as root, probably)
2. Find a line that starts with "gtk-menu-popup-delay" (should be Line 4) and comment it out.

which means lines 3 and 4 it should look like this;

#menu delay
#gtk-menu-popup-delay = 1

Save the changes.

If it doesn't work at first, open up lxappearance or the Xfce theme selector and select another GTK theme (apply the changes) and then select MurrinaBlu again.

Let me know if this does the trick for you.

Cheers.

You said what I was going to say!  lol  It seems that between this happening and my posting a request for assistance I'd forgotten that right clicking in Thunar's blank spaces worked -- obviously a clue I missed but one that gutterslob didn't.  wink

Now it's my turn to say it:

It works perfectly. Thank you sir.
