Topic: SOLVED: Openbox: how to show ticks in tick boxes?

Check boxes (in dialog boxes and settings pages in web browsers) appear as buttons in Openbox, that are pressed in or out. Call me old-fashioned, but I like actual ticks. For one thing I don't have to look so closely to be sure if it's checked or not. Worse for a first-time user.

Is there an Openbox theme that shows ticks? (I couldn't find one.) Or a setting somewhere? (Again, I couldn't find one.) Thanks.

In case it's relevant, I'm on Statler Alpha 2.

That's the one. Is that Statler? Which theme?

It's not the openbox themes that configure the check/radiobuttons.
It's the gtk theme... In the right-click menu go to settings - user interface settings - choose a window theme...
tab2 shows you a preview of the check/radiobuttons.
Tuna.

Thank you! Marking SOLVED.

Xfce-4.0 theme shows ticks and looks quite good. It just looked at a few, as I needed to click on tab2 each time.

I didn't realize that much of the "ugliness" of Statler compared to my old #!8.10 was actually the gtk theme - will suggest a different default theme.

Look on the positive side: the benefit of a default theme you don't like is you're going to find out how to change it smile
