To be honest, without knowing more about your USB set-up I am kind of struggling for ideas as to why your changes are not sticking. You mentioned you have it set to "persistance mode", yet it does not seem to be very persistent. Have you set-up a user account for yourself, or are you using the LiveCD account?
I would look nasty in one of those!
Nice work! I like both designs and I would purchase both, one of Hanna's for Trouble'n'strife and one of rfquerin's for myself!
I keep meaning to look into setting up a CafePress shop, I will try and get it done as soon as the .02 releases are out.
The packages are required on the guest machine. Having said that, build-essential is a metapackage and only the compiler is reported as being required -- I have always found build-essential the easiest method of installing it.
Regarding the linux-headers-generic package, I am not sure it is included with all CrunchBang variants, I think it is missing from the current "Lite" release. It will be included in the soon to arrive .02 release. Either way, better safe than sorry.
I hope you do not mind, but I have added another list item. I am not sure if you would like to add it to your original forum post?
Great job! Thank you for your contribution, it is really appreciated!
It can, but there should be no need to use the full path as it is already included in your system's $PATH variable. Basically, this means you should be able to refer to any program located within /usr/bin just by entering the name. Using the same program as an example, therefore entering the command:
would be the same as entering:
Hope this makes sense.
Hello Hickory
Most applications have there executables located in /usr/bin. The whereis tool is a handy resource which should help you find the correct locations. It can be run via the terminal and takes the name of the application as an argument, e.g:
would output:
terminator: /usr/bin/terminator /usr/share/man/man1/terminator.1.gz
Hope this helps.
Great tip, thank you sewmyheadon
Would you consider adding this to the VirtualBox wiki page? The guest additions section is at the bottom and is still to be written. I am sure michaelramm would appreciate the collaboration.
Thanks again for the informative guide.

Some top level pages are currently read-only, this is to protect against spam/abuse. I will review this on a regular basis, so please let me know what you think. If you need a link adding to one of the protected pages, please send it to me by PM on the forums, or by IRC if I am about.
Regarding the creation of new pages/articles, you should be able to enter the address you want to use and if the page does not yet exist, you should be given the option to create the page.
For example: http://crunchbanglinux.org/wiki/howto/foo << non-existent page at time of writing.
Hope this helps.
The way in which you have achieved the appearance of depth works well. Nice job, I like it!
Interestingly, I have been testing gnome-mplayer myself over the last week or so. It is a nifty front-end to mplayer and I really quite like it. The only issues I have had is with DVD playback, which can be somewhat difficult due to the way the application handles DVD menus. I would be really interested in reading about other alternatives, preferably GTK+ based.
Hello motogp
Welcome to the forums, it is good to have you aboard!
Hello qi and welcome to the forums
You should be in good company here as there are a few more Arch users about the place, maybe you will bump into some?! Anyhow, welcome again and I hope to see you about some more.

Nik_Doof wrote:Corenominal is the admin of it, anyone and everyone can edit and add pages to it. I think some pages are restricted but if you need a link adding I think you can just give him a nudge.
^^ is pretty much it. The wiki is mostly open and there are currently only a few restricted pages. Anyone is free to, and more than welcome to create and edit pages. The wiki is a great community tool and I would love to see it get more use.
Hello anunez
I am not too sure why your time selections are not sticking, maybe it does have something to with the USB install? Anyhow, have you tried running the tzselect command in the terminal, or have you been using the GUI tool from the preferences menu? If you run tzselect it may provide you with a fix. Please let us know how you get on.
I do not use my fingers, I bash my head against the keyboard until things work!
Nik_Doof wrote:Erk! you would mention that when my mirror has been down for a few days
You are fired!
Watch out! Andrew Williams (Nik_Doof) has joined the team of forum moderators. For anyone new to these here forums, Nik_Doof has been providing consistent help and support to many others and has been making himself especially useful in the IRC channel -- not to mention he has been mirroring the download files and helping out with maintaining the wiki. I know I am not the only one to appreciate Andrew's efforts, but I would personally like to thank him for his contributions to the project. I am sure Andrew will do a sterling job in his new moderator role!
Nik_Doof wrote:Okies, I spend most of my free time on here or the IRC anyway...
Good stuff! I was hoping you would say something like that.
So, what would you like to call your new forum? And how would you describe it?
LOL
Trouble'n'strife has also been keeping an eye on my forum post count, waiting for it to reach 666! Really, have you guys got nothing better to do? I know I have, there are several hundred souls waiting to be condemned, luckily for me, they are all signed up to these here forums and finding them should be no trouble! Muhahaha
Sounds like the beginnings of a plan. When should we start , Feb '09? I offered to do the packaging work, but if someone else would like to volunteer for the job, I am all ears.
Also, thinking about logistics, would it make sense to create a separate repository for art packs? I am just thinking that they tend not to be specific to any one release, also regular *buntu folks would be able to add the repository without having to worry about pulling down any strange packages. Thoughts?
Agreed, good idea. Suggestions for a name and description welcome!
Also, I vote Nik_Doof as moderator for the new forum, if he would like the job that is.
