Yeah, I can change the font size of time2, I just can't get rid of it. Changing the font to size 0 makes it disappear, but time1 then shows slightly off centre, which while very minor I will know it is there and it will annoy me! ![]()
Just comment out the two lines for time2 and restart tint2?

That's what I have been doing but it isn't working. Even deleting the two lines referring to Time2 completely from my tint2rc file doesn't work. It's very odd.
It's working now - thanks for your help.
Bit embarrassing. Restarting the whole machine fixed it. Don't know why everything else was changing without a reboot, but it's not showing tmie2 anymore.
where does tint load its icons from?
say i have a theme loaded that of course has specific icons for firefox/term/thunderbird etc... when u launch one of those programs(or any others), tint2 uses the "default" icons for each program ![]()
I *think* tint2 uses the icons specified by the program launcher. Look in /usr/share/applications; you can edit the launchers if you want a different icon.

nope. thx for the suggestion though..
What icon are you trying to change? If its for Firefox, look here:
http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/post/45451/#p45451
many icons. ff/thunderbird/pidgin/xchat/vmware/keepassx/moneydance/skype/transmission/gimp
those are my most used. i guess it's going to take some work to get em all replaced/working the way i want (icon wise). thx for that post.
i think i see how i'm going to have to go about doing this
edit: ya it worked. just gotta do that for every app ![]()
thx again!!

Can someone help me out with my tint2? I think you can see it in the picture, the size of the systray and clock are much larger than that of the task. Ie, if I have a window maximised, the systray and clock touches the edge of the monitor and the window, whereas the task has space between the screen and window.
I would prefer everything to look the way the task does. But I've been trying at this for over half an hour and I'm burned out from work today so I turn it over to you lot. This is probably something pathetically obvious, but I just can't get it.
Thank you.

Thanks. I knew it was something like that. Just couldn't quite get it to happen.
Silly question. I went into the tint2 gui to change the time to 12hour, after I pressed apply, i realized that the current settings were the not the same as I had before, the #! default.
Can someone post the default config file, or point me towards the default file? Thanks a ton.
Today i installed statler alpha 2 and got to play with the Tint2 GUI.
Heres my problem,I configured my tint the way i almost like it with this tool.
Now when i open the gui it says Panel Theming and try to open the preferences to edit tint,It wont open.
it seems that the Tintwizard and the Panel theming arent working together.
I tried reinstalling it and rebooting to get it to work again.
Any Ideas ?
Edit.
I made a work around for my problem.
I went to usr/bin/tintwizard.py this opens the Tintwizard. From there you have to open your existing config.
I then changed the openbox to read Panel Theming and that uses the original command to open it.
Then the one that says Tint GUI i changed the command to tintwizard.py
It wont auto load like it did,But i can find the file easily enough.

I was smart enough to save mine because ive screwed my tint up numerous times,,LOL
This GUI thing seems nice,But as on my last post,I think its easier to just edit the script.
here is the stock one.
If you want a 12 hour clock change ''time1_format = %H:%M:%S'' to ''time1_format = %_I:%M%P''

This is really weird: When I boot (into debian testing - fully updated) titnt2 looks like in the image. But if I do a:
pkill tint2; tint2 & everything turns right again!??
It has something to do with transparency or something...
Well. Finally I realized what was wrong: I'd added tint2 to the startup script, but looking in the xfce autostart.sh file I saw that it was allready set to start at login (from my earlier crunchbang setup). So: Don't try to run 2 of these at the same time, as it's not very pretty! ![]()
Hi,
i have a question to tint2!
Is it possible to involve in the "System Tray" more Icons for example WebBrowser, FileManager etc... to start the programms from there? ![]()
Take care!
tint2 does not (yet?) support launcher icons, if thats what you mean.
There is an app called gtrayicon that lets you make custom tray icons. You might have to compile it from source though. I haven't tried it myself.
