@corenominal

I'm new to this, but I think this is the proper feed.

As I said, I'm new to this part of the web so please let me know if there is something else I need to do. My blog will probably be all over the place with topics, but will include #! and linux.

@corenominal
Thanks for your patience. I was able to come up with one I would prefer to use that is 80 x 40 pixels. If this is unsatisfactory please let me know and I will come up with another one. Sorry to be such a bother.

PS: The link now goes to an 80x80 avatar.

Re: Planet CrunchBang Linux

Is this another group like the one on Linux.com that people "join" and then never even visit again? I "unjoin" all those groups and fan clubs and whatevers if nobody actually does anything but add their name. I hope this one is different...

Not really. The planet is a feed aggregation service. Basically, once every hour the planet will collect blog feeds from the supplied list and publish posts from the feeds in a single location. The planet is also available as a feed, making it easy for people to keep up-to-date with other CrunchBang users.

Ohhhh, okay. Nothing like what I thought, then. Great stuff there! I'm sorry I didn't bother to really even check it out before I asked such an impertinent question!

Please add mine too:

Robin's Rants and Raves
(the profile picture from my blog is good)
I'll just go by "Robin" on the Planet. Thanks very much!

Re: Planet CrunchBang Linux

As you may have noticed, my feed has became active again. This is actually due to a guest writer who I have offered to start writing on my blog.

If you'd prefer, since I rarely write and he won't be writing about Linux or crunchbang, you can remove my feed.

I have no great personal preference, and would happily leave it to you or the community to decide.

My feed changed and I forgot to drop the line here -- it's at http://feeds.feedburner.com/evanhanson

Sorry for letting it hang for a while!

Re: Planet CrunchBang Linux

^ no problem. I have updated your feed and it should be back on the planet within the hour. smile

^ no problem, I have updated your feed address and it should take on the next planetary update. smile

Re: Planet CrunchBang Linux

Someone left a note for me that the link to my blog is different from all the others on the Planet (makes me feel very special!), in that one has to link to it only from the Planet rather than through the Google Reader like he can with all the other links on the Planet... Not sure how mine is different, but he asked me to ask about it.

My blog is at http://robinzrants.wordpress.com

Thanks very kindly,
Robin

Re: Planet CrunchBang Linux

^ yes, I have noticed that. I am not sure why, but the titles of your posts do not get hyperlinked correctly. Maybe it has something to do with the WordPress.com service? I have changed your feed address to point to your atom feed, it should update within the hour and hopefully it will fix the issue. smile

Re: Planet CrunchBang Linux

Philip,

Thank you for including my blog on the Planet, but I blog about more than Linux and stuff of interest to most folks. I also, on occasion, blog about Christian theology and put devotional stuff in my blog. More than one person has commented that they find it offensive, but I do not intend to (nor should I have to) change what I blog about, nor to stop writing devotional and bible study stuff.

Perhaps it would be best if you removed Robin's rants and Raves from the Planet so as not to offend people who expect to find feeds there about Linux, Crunchbang, etc. While I have written very frequently about those things, my blog also includes the other stuff, and I would be disappointed to see folks unsubscribe from your feed because of me.

I appreciate your kindness in adding it, perhaps I was wrong to ask, given the mixed nature of my blog.

Very respectfully,
Robin
