I like to support local beers so I've gotta give Summit a shout out as well as Surly. Those are probably my favorite Minnesota breweries. Surly Bender is an oatmeal brown ale. Also love Guinness, that may be my all time favorite. The darker a beer is the higher chance I'll like it. Light beers seem like a waste of time.

I prefer spirits to beers though, so usually a nice whiskey, like Paddy Powers, or Jameson.

If just having a quiet drink, stout, Guinness, is my drink of choice smile

recently... kwak, pedigree, eisenbahn pale ale and red ale (made in brazil, german family, great stuff), stella artois (leftovers from my syster), and a couple of bohemia pilsen, my dad's choice in beer, cheap and better than most we have around here.

most beer i've been driking for a while is homemade. I help a friend make his own beer and I get to taste a lot, take it home, drink other batches while making new ones, in essence, drinking while making more to drink again. Lots of fun.

Was in Louisiana last week and went to the Abita brewery.  They're a small regional craft brewing company about an hour outside Baton Rouge.  The tour starts and finishes with "help yourself" beer tasting from their taps -- I think they had about 6-8 different types.  Favorites were the ales, especially the "Restoration" IPA .

The guys working there all had a passion for beer, and it was great to see a small company that still believes in doing things right.

Mostly Estrella - very nice, easy-to-drink Catalan beer, but whenever I get the chance (when I actually find an establishment that have it on tap) nothing kan keep me away from a pint of Murphy's

I love Emerson's London Porter (a local brewer from Dunedin, New Zealand). My favourite was his whisky stout - perfect for the cold winter evenings in the deep south. It was a brewer's special though, so haven't seen it since it came out a couple of years ago

Guinness Extra Stout and every single flavor of Samuel Adams. I'm also going to start microbrewing my own stuff, would like to experiment a bit like with replacing hops with hemp (Cannabia of Germany does this) and spices and such. Poppy's Dirty Pop.

That is a great beer!. Being from the UK but in the US, I'm really missing the good pints I used to find. My brother-in-law bought me some Hobgoblin and Newcastle Brown a while back, but most of the time I'm drinking Killian's, which is an Irish red and easy to get here.
