Re: March 2010 Screenshot Thread
Old-school inspired GTK, Openbox, tint2, Conky, XFCE4-weather-plugin.
clean:
cluttered:
GTK & Openbox themes are based on Arta-Dark; icons are ACYL color=#007700 cutout. Everything else is colored to match. I haven't bothered to look into colorizing the icons for xfce4-weather-plugin, and I really don't intend to.
EDIT: I notice even ACYL doesn't affect application icons in Tint2... ![]()

I like that alot, can I get the wallpaper?
Re: March 2010 Screenshot Thread
@pvsage
Excellent!!
I think there's a way to get tint 2 to recognize new icon themes, but I forgot how (since I prefer fonts instead of icons)
@grenouille
Very, very nice!!
I have a similar wallpaper, maybe I'll use it one day.

Re: March 2010 Screenshot Thread
Slight update of the previous shot.
I prefer the previous ultra-minimal wall, but I suspect most people's frequencies are more in-tune to something like this.
I shall now move on to colour... I swearz!!
I like your panel, Zwopper, but doesn't it take up too much space on a 1024x600 screen?
Nice wall, as well. ![]()

Re: March 2010 Screenshot Thread
My attempt at mainstream.
Good, bad or just plain boring?
I like the texture on the wallpaper, the colors mesh well too(I like blue and black)
Re: March 2010 Screenshot Thread
@gutterslob
What I like is your conky setup -very clean&elegant and also those shadows around windows are cool.
I think you should gently move into colors... all those gray months... and now bang blue --- man, have you thought about your eyes! ![]()
being more serious --> I like it. Conky/shadows/blue - all, great work.![]()
PS. This screenshot is taken from what kind of computer? I see in conky CPU temp. around 43oC after 2h of uptime...very low have to say (for eg. for a netbook)...

Re: March 2010 Screenshot Thread
@iggy & klanger
Thanks.
I just thought it's about time I do more colour, since my actual work is also moving in that direction again.
Half the credit goes to the excellent AnyColorYouLike icon set, which gives me freedom to change them to match my OBT gradients and the wallpapers.
...and klanger,
Shadows are xcompmgr (settings are in the screenshot)... I find it works better if the background has some texture on it.
Yeah, it's a netbook (IdeaPad S10-2)... it usually idles around 40degC.... highest I've seen it go to is 50, when playing HD flash or whatever..... if I'm on battery power it's usually lower (34-35deg).

Re: March 2010 Screenshot Thread
Nice wallpaper!
Actually, I didn't use your "old school wallpaper"; I started with the default #! and GIMPed it. Simple brightness cut and a color balance tweak.
