Topic: Menu Maddness

OK ....   seems I'm not compitent enough to configure my menu ....   I thought I was adding the debian menu and enabeling it to update so that new installed programs would show up automatically ...

... but I lost my open box menu ....

good news is the debian menu is working in the applet panel ....  but somehow it's stuck in the middle and won't justify back to the right ....

is there a way I can just reset the whole thing ..... if I erase the config files will new ones automatically be generated???

This seems incredibly simple ... but I can't seem to work it out....

Re: Menu Maddness

Tim, that can happen when there is a syntax error in your ~/.config/openbox/menu.xml file.

You can edit it with gedit found in your Debian menu. The default menu.xml file is at /etc/skel/.config/openbox/menu.xml.

You might try opening the application obmenu from the commandline and your error will announced. Hope this is helpful.

Re: Menu Maddness

The skel folder is what new accounts are based off of. It's basically the default config for everybody.

I say never be complete, I say stop being perfect, I say lets evolve, let the chips fall where they may.
