Topic: Need font recommendation.

I'm not sure if this is the correct section to post this, but I didn't want to cheapen the "Help & Support" section with my mundane questions.
Apologies to the mods if this is indeed a topic for another thread.

Anyhoo,
Can anyone recommend me a monospaced/fixed-width font with a typewriter-ish style?..... Something along the lines of TlwgMono or Nimbus Mono L, but cleaner and with better light catching capability (both the examples I stated always end up around 3 or 4 stops darker than my assigned terminal foreground colour)

If you're not sure what style I'm talking about (I know I'm bollocks at explaining stuff), here's a screenshot featuring TlwgMono;

Thanks in advance smile

Ha ezt el tudod olvasni, biztosan nem vagy rövidlátó.

Re: Need font recommendation.

There are a few fonts here that might potentially match what you're looking for.. particularly "Pseudo APL" and "Jack Input".

Re: Need font recommendation.

@Istvan
I know that site, but didn't think of looking there this time round. Thanks for reminding me.

@rfquerin
Pseudo APL looks like it might work.
Thanks a lot.

Re: Need font recommendation.

There are a few monospaced fonts on UrbanFonts.com.

I quite like Inconsolata too.

Re: Need font recommendation.

I know, old post (I'm looking to a theme thread, though maybe you started one)

I saw this:

a monospaced/fixed-width font with a typewriter-ish style?

... and thought I have a couple; monospace-typewrite:
http://www.dafont.com/monospace-typewrite.font

not as fun as 1942 report though:
http://simplythebest.net/fonts/fonts/1942_report.html

Both are mono.

Re: Need font recommendation.

Thanks Blackbird-Man.
Monospace-typewriter doesn't seem very "typewriter-ish" to me (then again, I've never owned an Olivetti), but 1942 look s pretty good.

Speaking of fonts, a friend sent me this link. Not exactly typwriter, but It'd be a waste to start a new thread just for a single post;

P.S
Regarding the theme-thread you're searching for, I only have the one Arp started for me, which you probably know about. Noticed you already started your own thread on theme creation, so I don't think it matters anymore.

You actually know Yusuke? I've used Tempesta on one of my boxes for as long as I can remember. Pass on a word of kudos to him on my behalf, will ya? Also tried out Ronda Seven before. The others, I'll try out now.

Re: Need font recommendation.

Hey gutterslob,

I think I found exactly what you are looking for. Take a look at this font called Another Typewriter: http://www.fontineed.com/font/5433_Another_Typewriter

You can also download any free windows fonts from this website: http://www.fontineed.com/ which I think is great.
