Topic: Blank screen on boot

Has anyone succesfully got #! to work on a Via C3 based machine?

I've been trying to boot an old laptop from CD and it gets pretty much all theway through before the screeen just goes compeltely blank.

No idea quite what might be casuing it as I can't even see a shell, it's like the graphics mode has changed at the final stage of boot anddecided not to play.

I've tried the xforcevesa option with the same effect.

hey damocov smile  ..i think you are having a X problem with VIAs chrome graphics.. try the following to see if you can get a different resolution:
ctrl+alt+minus  or  ctrl+alt+plus

If that doesn't work, keep kicking it with Ctrl+Alt+Backspace, after a while it'll tell you it's having issues with (hopefully) a better log of whats going on.
