^ I love Sweden!!
Ever since a "right out of a men's magazine" lady gave me a BIG bear hug in the middle of a busy intersection in Amsterdam and was whispering some foreign language in my ear, about 35 years ago. When she let go of me and heard me asking in English "Do I know you?" she knew she had made a mistake. I was wearing a T-shirt with the Swedish flag and "Sverige" on it. She thought I was a countryman, wrong, just a Canadian tourist. ![]()
I quickly convinced her to come across the street with me, thank God she spoke English, and explain to my wife that I didn't know her. I tell you if looks could kill I would have been buried right then, right there. My step mother had a "Oh oh! He's in BIG trouble!" look, and my 17 year old half brother had a grin on his face that wrapped around his head twice.
She was as nice as she was good looking, she grabbed onto my half brothers arm and was our tour guide for the afternoon. She was going to University there and knew the city and was only a couple of years older then my brother. Trust me, he did not mind her grabbing hold of his arm at all. ![]()
Yea, I love Sweden!

@rstrcogburn;
Are you using Windows fonts or so?
How do you get your fonts so sharp?
I am asking because in the past I used the Windows fonts on my Linux platform because of it's quality/ sharpness, but it would be nice if there are alternatives.
The sharpness on your system is great!
Re: July 2010 Screenshot Thread
@rstcogburn
Lovely stuff, mate.
I love the tones and sharpness.
@Tech
That's Terminus, my friend. It's clarity is unmatched.
You can find it in most distro repos. For Debian/Ubuntu, apt-get install xfonts-terminus.

@Gutterslob and Hadret;
Thank you, I am going to read and install it right now to see if it is the solution for me ![]()

@gutterslob
Thank you for the compliments dude.
The tones are my take on how ubuntu should have done ambience. I'm using colored backgrounds off of deviantart by Alexander, they are on my PPA now as well. Alexander's walls seem to be similar to yours. I really like your conkyrc and tint2rc. Would you mind sharing?? I've found some threads for your artwork and the conky one but as far as finding your configs it's a no go.
Re: July 2010 Screenshot Thread
← On boot up it looks like this.
After reading it all it looks like this →
And thanks to Ventil's tip about clicking on the tint2 clock the two screens are a click away:
# Clock
time1_format = %H:%M
time1_font = DejaVu Sans Mono bold 12
clock_font_color = #FFFFFF 100
clock_padding = 4 4
clock_background_id = 0
clock_lclick_command = ~/Conky/scripts/ob_all.sh
clock_rclick_command = ~/Conky/scripts/obc.sh
#clock_tooltip = %A %d %BRe: July 2010 Screenshot Thread
@Sector11
Whoah!! That's crazy man!!
All I've ever done is have a conky calender pop out when I click the clock.
Good stuff.
@rstcogburn
I just pastebinned the rc's instead of preparing the usual zip archive. Hope you don't mind.
They're both made for my netbook, so you might have to adjust the margins and padding to suit your display size.
conkyrc = http://pastebin.com/HZgAhZxb
tint2rc = http://pastebin.com/XKkpu4Bk
Fonts are Artwiz (Nu and Mintsmild) = http://artwizaleczapka.sourceforge.net/
Install as you would any other bitmap/pixel font.
Cheerz~

Re: July 2010 Screenshot Thread
edit: btw, I had nice and blue menubars, but the padding is not working out, going to work on that. Scrollbars will be probably be blue too soon.

Thanks. I have more space, I need more. ![]()
I have a much larger modified version of the #! default conky showing ALL of the Hot Keys not just that short list. I'll plug that in when I get rid of a few duplicates.
I don't need nor want all this info all day that's why I connected it to the clock (neat trick that) to disappear/reappear. And as an added note I can right-click on any of those conkys and get my OpenBox menu as well. It's like they are not there.
Near the top of the screen the OB_Menu opens with the mouse pointer at the upper left corner therefore I had to click on my conky to display this one.

Re: July 2010 Screenshot Thread
Im late posting, but my laptop is pretty plain and dull. My desktop is a complete mess, so I try to go the opposite direction on the old craptop. I kinda took Sector11's Ideas on conky's, and stole me a lil tiny chunk.

Next month Ill give an honest effort not to be so dull, maybe Ill show the desktop, and get some laughs.

Clean:
I like it... is that OB or Xfce?
Re: July 2010 Screenshot Thread
@Sector11 I took our positioning from your last conky config post (next to tint2), and kinda changed it up alil. I know I'm slow, but I never thought of having any part of conky on the same line as tint2 before, untill I seen your post. Ill catch on someday, or not.
