Open source Vista :
I'm sorry if it offends somebody.
Thumbnail added (see post 1) --omns
It does not offend me. Open Source gives freedom and this is a good example. But I'd like to know what's the reason to use Linux if you love Windows Vista.

It's a paradox
I think oxymoron is the right term.

hah, i love how you made it look though.
it looks better than windows..
haha
I wish pvsage would hurry up with his new, ground-breaking, easy-as-pie engine!!
Yeah, right! About the only way I'd be able to learn how to do that would be to take apart the source code for an existing engine, and I don't know anywhere near enough about programming to do that.
On second thought...I really like most things about the hcengine, including the flat buttons and un-embossed inactive widgets. The few things I don't like about it may be relatively easy to resolve...
Zenwalk has always been a favourite of mine with a nice community forum focused mainly on the development of the distro. Creation/maintenance of packages is pretty easy in Zenwalk and they always welcome new community packagers to join the project for packages outside of the core that they maintain.
The openbox edition has been a nice addition to their repertoire but I'm rather tempted to build something up from the recent Core release at the moment
If I can find the time it would make a nice side project.

I was actually surprised with the openbox edition because i was waiting for the empty openbox dektop, and then i found tint2, wicd, a volume systray icon and ADcomp's adeskbar, all out of the box... i just thought... i like it.
If you get to do that project just let me know... i can bet (and i would encourage you to) you would make a super slim and good looking xfce zenwalk ![]()
Im wondering if that could even be tint2. bmpanel perhaps?
lxpanel?
Where the zen austere black minimal beauty of Crunchbang and Linux have gone??
(just kidding).

Here is my latest setup. I had to retreat back to windows for a short while. I use two external monitors on my laptop (Which i recently just setup), and the ati drivers couldn't quite handle it. Was fixed this month though, so yay ati
[and also yay for big dual monitor desktops]

I have never tried virtual environment before, but this is really nice! Funny thing is: Firefox in virtual Mint is running WAAAYYYYY faster than Iceweasel in my native Statler.

If it would offend somebody, I think they should cool down ![]()

I've been installing the LXDE version of Mint as well on some old decommissioned R51 Thinkpads that I had lying around at school. My students love it as these machines previously had XP on them and were unusable. Some of them prefer them to our recently acquired Acer laptops as they are slicker and faster than the bloated Windows images my department deploys. Overall I'm quite impressed by it and being a LTS release I won't have to touch them very much to maintain them. In fact they'll probably see their lives out with this release.

Interesting...
