Topic: Let me introduce myself

hello, good people, how are you?
I'm a 19 year old computer enthusiast from uruguay and a few years ago i discovered linux and fell in love with it, specially i fell in love with how simple it is and how it is community driven.
At first I ised red hat linux (as it was the one that was installed in my school for a year) but then i realized it was far too difficult for me to use it 24/7 and so I set myself in a quest for an easier distro.
I found it, its name was ubuntu and i could even ask them to send me cds for free!! For some time I used it but it started to become too bloated for my taste, so i tried to use fedora (I admit it...I can't understand rpm based distros) and debian, but with the last one i just felt i didn't connet with the community, and so I was on the road again looking fr a new distro.
I used a few distros (arch, slackware, mandriva...) but none of them suited my needs, until one day i heard about this proyect one guy had, called #! (I thought to myself, what an awesome name!), and when I learned that it was meant to be minimalistic, that it didn't use gnome, KDE or xfce, but openbox, i was sold.
So here I am, trying out #! and so far, I'm loving it, it's light, fast, simple, awesome and the community seems to be really kind and friendly, so i'll be hanging around here for at least a while (a while I hope will las for a long time).

Re: Let me introduce myself

I'm still kind of new myself, but Welcome! all the same.

Thanks to your post, I'll have Willie Nelsons "On the Road Again" stuck in my head for the next few minutes lol

Welcome to the forums!

I too am 19 and I'm glad to know you like the distribution so far.

Re: Let me introduce myself

@anonymous, yeah, I've seen that and I even installed statler, but I kinda screwed my setup trying to install burg and the many years I've spent fixin windows boxes made me format and reinstall, and I only had a 9.04 cd with me, so, here I am!
@schadt91, I'm not liking it, I'm loving it! (trademark by the McD company XD), but seriously, I'm feeling very comfortable with it and looking forward to installing it in my netbook (I currently have it in my works PC)
