Re: #! CrunchBang Linux Desktop Screenshots

I just spent 30 mins thinking I was gonna have to reinstall, I somehow bugged the crap out of my install and couldn't figure out what I did....I made another user and everything was fine so I began reverse engineering my issue by copying rc files over, then once I got it down to autostart.sh I began blacklisting....finally I found I had unintentionally deleted an ampersand from my trayer line....30 mins of pure hell....

Thanks for the compliment, I listed the GTK wrong, it's actually Acid.  I wanted a minimalistic looking desktop and that usually means dual thin top and bottom black borders.  Tint2 for bottom but lxpanel wasn't cooperating for top and I didn't want to work up yet another conky and just left the top without a border.

I view KDE like I view snow. It looks fun and marvelous, it's fun to play in, but after a while I just want someone to take it all away.

The GTK theme has been updated by the author to now have gradients, it looks even better.

I sure like that context menu with the forecast. Would I find instructions on that in one of the Conky threads?

There is thread somewhere here, by Sheri if I recall.  However I ran across the same thing on Archlinux forums and just grabbed from there.  I actually lost it yesterday when my system was broken by me, I overwrite rc.xml in an attempt to figure out what happened so I can't just post what I had, sorry.

Aha - Keyword Weather + Author Sheri = This link

Now where is my tuxzilla desktop??  big_smile

Hah, I clicked to say I like your desktop before even seeing that my conky inspired yours. There's a joke about vanity in there somewhere.

I very much like that wallpaper, and the font you chose. I'd $alignr the time, but that's just me. Looks good.

That's a very nice wallpaper. Nice colour contrast, looks a little bit surreal at times.

In reality it reminds me a lot of the road from Keflavik to Reykjavik, Iceland.  However that road only has the ocean to one side (the left side for the direction I mention).

Love it.  I forgot about socwall, I went looking for some "grass" wallpapers and found this, thought you might be interested:

Just wanted to show off the Elegant Brit theme, which I think goes quite nicely with #!.

Re: #! CrunchBang Linux Desktop Screenshots

I decided to install #! on a partition of my laptop, too. Now it's triple boot: Vista for the children's gaming, Ubuntu Jaunty 64-bit for Raising Skinny Elephants in freezing conditions (yes, it seems a bit unstable at the moment), and CrunchBang for the serious stuff (like playing music).

http://omploader.org/tMWw0eg  http://omploader.org/tMWw1Mw  http://omploader.org/tMWw1Yw

The desktop comes in all kinds of colours, because the image is transparent and I can change the background colour in Nitrogen.

shawnjgoff,

Nice theme, very clean cut.  I was wondering if you could post your .conkyrc also.  i noticed a cool fading effect with your processor graph.  How did you do that?  All in all, great looking....
