Hey,
what icon theme are you using? I've installed Dyne-gtk and Dyne openbox themes, but they don't include that icon set. (It wasn't packaged with Dyne)
^ I'd say he is using this:
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/
tent=78259
or this:
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/
ent=101979

It was the second one- thank you!
Been in an Ubuntu mood lately.
(Two conkys running- the center one shows battery and cpu bars, the mocp now-playing track and the WessID.)
Openbox theme: Fawn
GTK theme: Fawn
Icons: Maliae Dust
Bmpanel theme: Transpy
Edit: Changed image formats from PNG to Jpeg. The PNG previews were more than 1 MB! (Jpeg: 120 KB combined).

Considering using my Star Wars font for Conky headers ![]()

Some nice screens there, and I like that 043 icon set.
Is there such a thing as a "real objects" icon set?
It seems to me the choice is between an "illustrated" style, as in ubuntu gnome or Mist styles, or a "logo" style like 043 above, ubuntu HighContrastInverse, etc.
I'd quite like a set that are photos of real objects - eg a "system tools" icon could be a picture of a real sprocket. Even in small size, I think it would look qualitatively different to the usual sets.
illumin8 - I like the barcode in your conky config - is it a grphic, or by a barcode font of some kind?
I always thought Ed Tufte's sparklines would be a good fit for conky; sparklines are single-line graphs designed to be used in-line with text - the conky cpu_graph, diskio_graph could be described as sparklines, but the idea is you could have all kinds of different graphs, tailored to showing fdifferent data - eg a daiily chart of a share price, football team match results, etc - google turns up some interesting ideas.

Its a font...

I tried using it as the system clock in Conky but its a bit awkward looking.
So I just added some text.
I like your idea about photo real icons. It would take a bit of work but it would look cool.
Id like to see some in high contrast black and white:)

I was reading through the wiki entry.

You are on to something there...
Ive had a couple of my non-linux friends show some strong interest just because of Conky
I dont think the surface of its appllication possibilities are even being scratched.

After a month or so of tweaking, I've finally worked out something I'm happy with.
OpenBox: arch.blue
GTK: MurrinaLily
Panel: Xfce4-panel and tint2.
Icons: Mac4Lin.
Conky: By corenominal
Wallpaper: Twister, by *swandundee.

I'm going to grab the conky code and have a sniff around. Conky seems to be great in being quick to put something together and fairly lightweight, etc, and it's surprising how much you can get out of it despite the rough and ready display "language". I'm sure more structure/modularity in the display functionaility could open it up to more uses though.

LOL, very #!, but also a very good idea, they'd probably be much easier to decipher at small size.

Abadidea: horrifying her all-male computer science classmates since 2006 ![]()
Usually I fullscreen the terminal and split it into one tall one and two normal-sized ones.
Bunch of 'em going back a few years...

I think this would make a good wallpaper :
http://www.flickr.com/photos/nofrills/10895361/
Some work required on the colours, etc, and it's not high res, although scaling up gives a nice grainy texture. I love the way the focus is on "made in england"

Love it XD
on photorealistic icons, there are plenty that claim to be, for example here:

n-43594547
But they're just not actually photo-realistic, they still look like airbrushed illustrations, albeit accurate ones.
I think a "noir" photo set would make great icons for #!

telavivmarco: what font is that on your conky?

I like it, looks clean and free from clutter (except the bottom panel).
No one seems to be into light themes, but oh well:)
Oh I love that! Sometimes a light, airy theme is what you need! ![]()
