I just started using #! about 2 months ago. I bought an Eee PC 1000HE and Eeebuntu was killing this little guy. Even w/ 2 gigs of ram, Gnome was constantly hogging the resources, so I decided to give Crunchbang a shot. I've always been a fan of minimalism when it comes to my computer but I had no idea until I installed #!. I ran Openbox on Debian a few years ago but it still doesn't compare lol. Anyhow, I've been lurking through these forums for a few months now, so I figured it was time for me to register and post something.

Welcome, odium1, glad you're enjoying #! [=

I also have 2GB of RAM. I can run a full KDE4 desktop with multiple visual effects and have plenty memory left for apps. Heck, the laptop came with Vista and ran well, but I don't see the point in having the OS use so much of my computer, when it doesn't have to.

The Das Keyboard doesn't have the action compared to the old IBM keyboards, so it's not  the best keyboard ever I'm afraid tongue

plus some of those old ibm's don't have any writing on the keys any more either, so das keyboard isn't new there either.

you don't have any graphical problems with tint2 tray? my icons sometimes go crazy... so I use lxpanel (very narrow) and tint2

It's been fixed now, with the latest SVN build! See my post from a moment ago for Tint2.
