Topic: [SOLVED/update]What's up with terminator transparency & compositing?
Not too many posts on the subject yet, so hopefully someone can get some insight into this problem:
With compositing enabled (either xcomp or cairo) terminator does not remain or go transparent.
I made the changes that I had to terminator's .config under 9.04 and no bueno (matter of fact, setting the 'darkness' line actually borked terminator to ugliness). Anyone with better skills found a fix? Or do we just try to revert to an older version of Terminator?
i really miss having a transparent MOC running on the desk ![]()
Okay, not sure what change I made (pretty sure it was nothing) but after a full shutdown reboot term transparency works
just fine, whether under Cairo or Xcomp. Weird. But good.
UPDATE: From tinkering around, it seems to me that Terminator actually works just fine under Statler's compositing;
the lack of transparency with compositing on only affects the currently open terminal, not subsequently opened instances,
that is to say if you have a terminal already open and THEN start compositing, that instance of Terminator will go non-trans.
