Birthday Today?

why is it a lie? looks like a cake to me, unless you mean it doesn't realy mean 'happy birthday', but 'may you burn in the fires of hades and all your toe nails fall off.  birthday' instead?

its very presumptuous to assume "any day is someone's birthday", perhaps you should get an 'unbirthday' cake as well to hedge your bets ?

Oh -- he's talking about a game called Portal in which a cake plays a pivotal role. 

I think it would be presumptuous to assume that there was ever one day in which no one was never born so that's why I said what I said.  Are un-birthdays similar to or different from half-birthdays?

an unbirthday is a day that isn't your birthday, its from alice in wonderland.

but anyway its less presumptuous to assume its not anybodies birthday than assume that it is, what proportion of time has been someones birthday ?

To paraphrase winotree, "Every day is someone's birthday."  So 100% of the time has been someone's birthday.

I had never heard that video game reference, but that's a handy little meme; I'll have to remember it the next time someone promises that "after X, there will be Y".

I originally thought "The cake is a lie" was a variant on "Ceci n'est pas une pipe" from La trahison des images.

Oh cool, a thread about birthdays that were yesterday. Yesterday was my birthday. I'm going to a concert today but one of my friends had to ditch so now I've got an extra ticket for a Primus concert and no one to go with...
