Which version of CrunchBang should I download?

CrunchBang 10 “statler” is available for both i386 and AMD64 architectures, with the i386 download available in 2 kernel flavours, i486 and i686. A description of each follows:

  • i486
    For use on old PCs with a 486, Pentium or compatible processor; AMD K6-I and K6-II.
  • i686
    For use on PCs with Intel Pentium Pro/II/III/4/4M/D/M, Xeon, Celeron, Core or Atom; AMD K6-III, Geode LX/NX, Athlon (K7), Duron, Opteron, Sempron, Turion or Phenom; Transmeta Efficeon; VIA C3 “Nehemiah” or C7 processors.
  • AMD64
    For use on PCs with AMD64 or Intel 64 processors.
